Yakima’s 2026 Young Writers Adventure – Sponsorship Opportunities

In our Yakima Valley, seniors shaped this community for decades — raising families, building businesses, leading churches, mentoring youth, and strengthening the very foundation we stand on today.

Yet in this season of life, many quietly feel distant from the people and places they once knew so well.

After years of pouring into others, retirement can bring fewer visits, less connection with today’s community leaders, and a world that feels faster and farther away than it used to. At the same time, children are growing up at remarkable speed — often without hearing the timeless stories of “then.”

Pages & Petals Young Writers Adventure was created to change that.

Our Peachy Family senior residents have thoughtfully compiled a list of “Then vs. Now” topics for children to choose from — each one designed to spark curiosity, imagination, and meaningful reflection.

• Residents choose age-appropriate topics
• Children ages 5–15 select a topic and handwrite their “Then vs. Now” adventure story
• Kids learn to properly address an envelope, place a stamp, and mail their letter to our Writers Ambassador Adventurers team
• Ambassadors (our actual residents) personally open, read, and review every submission
• Residents thoughtfully select finalists (though we may fall in love with all entries and use rock-paper-scissors or a basket draw!)
• Finalists are recognized at our public Mother’s Day celebration

Because when generations connect through story, something powerful happens.

Together, we honor seniors as heroes.

We celebrate young voices.

We unite our valley as a collective force rebuilding generational bridges.

Our goal is simple and achievable:

To ignite imagination.

To strengthen character.

To inspire greatness in the youth of today.

And at the same time, to restore meaningful connection for seniors who still have wisdom, perspective, and the ability to make a real impact — even in retirement.

This is not about looking backward.

It’s about proving that influence doesn’t expire.

A Celebration with Purpose

We have already secured 500 Mother’s Day gifts for the first 500 youth who register — a special way for each child to honor their mom or a mother-figure adventurer in their life.

Every participant will receive a goodie bag.

Each age group will feature finalist prize awards.
