It started with a splat, a giggle, and a suspicious swirl in the dessert tray. Yes, the Peach Tree Elf had struck again — this time during what should have been a peaceful lunch hour.
Just as Mrs. Jean scooped her signature banana pudding onto her tray, she let out a soft gasp. “Is that… a lens?” Sure enough, peeking out from under a toasted marshmallow sat a familiar pair of white novelty glasses — half-submerged in banana custard and surrounded by tiny, festive sugar sprinkles.
And on the rim of the dessert cart? A red velvet hat. Giggle included.
The whole dining room erupted into laughter. “Looks like we’ve got a pudding monster on the loose!” Mr. Carlos declared, using a spoon like a telescope to investigate. The elf was found moments later perched beside the whipped cream dispenser, holding a marshmallow in one hand and a tiny spoon in the other — clearly proud of his pudding placement.
At Peach Tree Retirement Center, these sweetly silly scenes are all part of our Holiday Spectacle Hunt, where misplaced glasses have become the unofficial mascot of merriment. What began as a funny mix-up has turned into a community-wide adventure, with residents, staff, and families on high alert for elf-sized mischief.
