Pages & Petals Youth Writing Adventure: “Now vs. Then” Keeping The Generation Gap at Bay
- What is the Youth Writing Adventure?
It’s a handwritten storytelling project where kids in grades K–9 explore how life has changed “Then vs. Now,” sharing creative letters with local senior citizens. It’s fun, educational, and designed to bridge generations.
- Who can participate?
Children in Kindergarten through 9th grade from public, private, faith-based, or homeschool settings across the Yakima Valley — including Ellensburg, Sunnyside, and nearby towns.
- How do we enter?
Gaurdians must register online at PeachTreeRetirement.com beginning March 1, 2026. Then, children handwrite their stories and submit them by mail or drop-off (dates on Facebook).
- What’s required on the entry?
Each page must include: Child’s first name and age Gaurdian’s email and phone number (matching registration) A typed copy for backup clarity (doesn’t replace the handwritten version)
- Can my child attend the event even if we don’t submit a story?
Absolutely! All families are welcome to join the Pages & Petals Mother’s Day Bazaar on May 9.
- What happens at the event?
Families who attend can enjoy: A Pizza-mony Reveal of the Young Adventures, vendor shopping, food, and live music. A joyful Writers Celebration at 2:00 PM
- When is the last day my child can submit their story?
Adventures must be received by April 15th. Mailed entries must be postmarked by this date. Drop-off options will close at the same time. Final dates and reminders will be posted on Facebook and our website.
- When can I drop off my child’s submission?
Any time between 12:30 pm and 5:00 pm. One of our staff members will help you when you arrive
Vendors
Pages & Petals Mother’s Day Bazaar: Vendor Info
- How do I become a vendor at the Bazaar?
Sign up using the vendor form on PeachTreeRetirement.com and submit your $35 payment by May 5, 2026. Spaces are only secured once payment is received.
- What are the event hours?
Setup: Begins at 8:00 AM Event: 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM Tear Down: Begins promptly at 3:30 PM (no early breakdowns)
- Where is the event held?
Outdoors at Peach Tree Retirement Center. In case of severe weather, we’ll move indoors.
- What do I need to bring?
Your own tables, chairs, tablecloths, and displays Optional canopy (must be weighted down) Any trash must be removed from your space
- Is parking available?
Vendors may briefly unload at Peach Tree, then must park up the street behind Red Robin (2 blocks away). Please do not park in resident spaces.
- Can I promote my business in advance?
Yes! Share the event on social media, engage in the Facebook Event, and send us: Your logo Product photos Business info So we can feature you on our platforms.

- What visibility will my business receive?

- Can I suggest prize ideas or provide in-kind donations?
Absolutely! We’re happy to align prizes with your mission, product, or audience. Contact us early for coordination.

Pages & Petals Mother’s Day Bazaar
- Is this just a vendor fair?
It’s much more! While there’s plenty of shopping, Pages & Petals is also a celebration of mothers, youth creativity, and community connection — featuring: Live music, free kids’ activities, a family-friendly atmosphere, and Intergenerational storytelling moments.
- Do I need to RSVP?
No RSVP is required for general attendance. Come by anytime between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
- Are kids welcome even if they didn’t submit a story?
Yes — all families are invited. Kids can enjoy the booths, meet our vendors, and celebrate others’ stories.
- Will there be food?
Yes! Enjoy treats and refreshments from Che’y’s Dessert Delights.
Senior Citizens & Community Members
Pages & Petals Mother’s Day Bazaar
- Is this event open to seniors who aren’t residents of Peach Tree?
Yes! All Yakima-area seniors are warmly invited to attend, browse, and enjoy the youth writing displays and celebration.
- How do seniors get involved in the writing adventure?
Peach Tree residents help judge the stories and are honored as storytellers and wisdom-keepers. The event is a beautiful exchange between generations.
- What time should I arrive to see the stories?
Stop by any time, but the Writers Celebration begins at 2:00 PM. That’s when we’ll feature the kids’ stories.
- Can I help with the event?
We always welcome friendly faces to greet families, share stories, or assist with light setup. Contact our team if you’re interested in volunteering.
