It was a peaceful morning at Peach Tree Retirement Center — soft carols hummed from the speakers, cinnamon cider warmed hands, and the halls glowed with the sparkle of twinkling lights and evergreen garlands. That is, until someone looked up at the main entryway wreath and shouted, “Are those my glasses?!”
Sure enough, perched right at the center of the oversized holiday wreath, framed by red velvet ribbon and nestled in faux snow, was a very familiar pair of white spectacles. They dangled like a glamorous ornament, catching the morning light and giving the whole display a quirky kind of charm.
Mrs. Beverly, who had been looking for those glasses since breakfast, squinted at the wreath in disbelief. “Well, no wonder I couldn’t find them. I’ve been decorating the wrong tree!” she laughed. Her granddaughter, visiting from Selah, was the one who spotted them—just as the Peach Tree Elf darted from behind a poinsettia cart, giggling with glitter stuck to his nose.
Ah yes, the Elf. Small in stature, large in antics, and definitely the mastermind behind this seasonal spectacle. He’d struck again—turning everyday items into hilarious hiding places in our Spectacle Scavenger Hunt. And with every surprise discovery, from pudding bowls to piano benches, he’s brought more than mischief. He’s brought joy, connection, and just a little bit of holiday mayhem.
