In the heart of Yakima, something magical happens when young minds meet timeless stories. Each spring, the Pages & Petals Youth Writing Adventure invites children and teens to become storytellers — bridging generations with letters, drawings, and creative essays that explore life “then and now.”
This joyful journey reaches its peak at the Pizza-mony Awards Celebration, a family-friendly event where winners are recognized, stories are shared, and — yes — pizza is plentiful.
✍️ What Is the Pages & Petals Youth Writing Adventure?
Hosted by Peach Tree Retirement Center, Testify Swag, and community partners, this unique writing experience welcomes children from kindergarten through middle school. Young writers will choose from a list of Adventures and write a masterpiece to bridge generations!
Submissions are judged not on perfection, but on creativity, voice, and effort — making this one of the most inclusive and affirming youth contests in the region.

Held at the Pages & Petals Mother’s Day Bazaar (May 10, 2026), the Pizza-monie Awards Celebration is where the community comes together to:
- Cheer for Young Writers
- Enjoy a free, family-friendly event with pizza and prizes
- Celebrate Adventure Recognitions in each age group
- Meet local heroes who helped make it all happen
Best of all? Every child who submits is honored. Because at Pages & Petals, every voice matters.
